Joining the RentGoalie.ca Goalie Network does not guarantee any minimum number of games, hours or income.
Registration allows RentGoalie.ca to contact the goalie when opportunities matching their availability, location and level of play become available.
The same game offer may be sent to multiple goalies.
Receiving an offer does not reserve the game. Normally, the assignment goes to the first suitable goalie who confirms acceptance, subject to final confirmation by RentGoalie.ca.
The game is officially assigned only after RentGoalie.ca confirms the assignment.
Standard goalie compensation is:
60 minutes: $40
90 minutes: $50
120 minutes: $70
Payment is made by Interac e-Transfer within 24 hours after the game.
When the client is financially responsible for the service under the RentGoalie.ca Booking & Service Terms, the goalie is paid according to the applicable goalie compensation rules. When the client owes nothing under those terms, no goalie compensation is payable unless otherwise agreed by RentGoalie.ca.
A goalie is always free to accept or decline a game offer.
Once the goalie accepts an offer and RentGoalie.ca confirms the assignment, the goalie is committed to honouring that assignment according to these terms.
More than 2 hours before the game, the goalie may cancel by notifying RentGoalie.ca as soon as possible so a replacement can be found.
Exactly 2 hours or less before the game, RentGoalie.ca will attempt to find a replacement.
If a replacement provides the complete service, no consequence normally applies to the original goalie.
If the late cancellation prevents RentGoalie.ca from providing the promised service and results in compensation to the client, the compensatory-game rules may apply.
A genuine emergency or exceptional situation may be assessed individually.
If money is retained from a client following a cancellation and the goalie is no longer required to perform the service, the amount actually retained may be divided 50/50 between the goalie and RentGoalie.ca.
If the client receives a full refund, no cancellation compensation is payable to the goalie.
If the service remains available and the goalie remains committed to the assignment, the goalie receives the normal agreed compensation when the assignment is honoured.
The goalie must arrive early enough to be fully equipped and ready at the scheduled start time.
If significant lateness attributable to the goalie or an unauthorized no-show causes RentGoalie.ca to compensate the client with a free future game, the responsible goalie may be required to perform that compensatory game without pay.
The compensatory game will normally be the same duration as the affected game and will be coordinated with the goalie.
A goalie may not independently send a friend or another goalie to perform an assigned game.
If unable to perform the assignment, the goalie must contact RentGoalie.ca.
The goalie may suggest a replacement, but RentGoalie.ca must approve and confirm that replacement before the game.
The level of play stated in an offer is based on information provided by the client and is an estimate.
RentGoalie.ca cannot guarantee that the actual level will exactly match the advertised level.
The goalie should accept only games reasonably compatible with their ability.
If the actual level is materially different, the goalie may determine whether it is reasonable and safe to continue. A material mismatch unknown at the time of acceptance is not, by itself, the goalie’s fault.
The arena is provided before the goalie accepts the assignment.
The goalie is free to decline an offer because of distance, travel time, location or any other reason.
Unless otherwise stated in the offer, the goalie is responsible for their own travel expenses.
The goalie is responsible for providing their own complete, appropriate and safe goalie equipment.
The goalie must arrive with equipment suitable for performing the accepted assignment safely.
A genuine injury occurring during the game that makes continuing unreasonable is not considered a late cancellation, no-show or wrongful abandonment.
If the client remains financially responsible for the service under the RentGoalie.ca terms, the goalie retains the full agreed compensation.
Goalie compensation corresponds to the scheduled 60, 90 or 120-minute assignment.
If the game starts late for a reason not attributable to the goalie, the agreed compensation remains unchanged.
At the end of the scheduled period, the goalie is free to stay or leave.
If the goalie voluntarily agrees to play additional time, the goalie may arrange an additional amount directly with the client as a tip.
All tips belong 100% to the goalie. The goalie is not required to report a tip or disclose its amount to RentGoalie.ca.
While performing a RentGoalie.ca assignment, the goalie represents both themselves and the RentGoalie.ca team.
Goalies are expected to be reliable, punctual, respectful and professional toward players, organizers, arena staff and other goalies.
RentGoalie.ca is building a real Ottawa–Gatineau goalie team based on trust, reliability and mutual support.
Goalies remain free to develop their own contacts and relationships and to offer their services independently.
When a client and goalie are introduced through RentGoalie.ca, both are asked to respect the trust on which the network is built.
Goalies who contribute positively and earn the trust of the team may naturally be considered for additional opportunities.
The goalie participates in the RentGoalie.ca network independently. Registration does not guarantee any number of games, hours or income.
The goalie remains free to accept or decline each offer and to provide services to other people, groups or organizations.
The goalie provides their own equipment and is responsible for personal expenses, including travel, unless otherwise stated for a specific assignment.
The goalie is responsible for reporting income received and complying with the tax obligations applicable to their situation.
Safety takes priority over the obligation to finish an assignment.
If players, organizers or other persons behave aggressively, threateningly, violently or in an obviously dangerous manner, the goalie may leave if they reasonably believe their safety is compromised.
Leaving under these circumstances is not considered wrongful abandonment, and the goalie retains the agreed compensation.
The goalie should inform RentGoalie.ca as soon as reasonably possible after the incident. RentGoalie.ca may then decide whether to accept future bookings from that client or group.
